About Me

So, you’re interested in the Chris Mahon Brand (TM). I don’t blame you.

I’m a game designer and tabletop RPG connoisseur based in Brooklyn, NY. I received my BA in Creative Writing from Pacific Lutheran University, and originally worked in book publishing.

I started playing tabletop games with D&D 4e in high school, and since then I’ve delved into everything from Magic: the Gathering to the madness known as The Black Cube. I’ve run TTRPGs professionally, redesigned other people’s games (Cyberpunk Red and Game of Thrones Board Game), and founded the Occult Triangle Lab to develop and publish my own video games and experimental narratives.

In the past, I’ve published a professional short story in Beneath Ceaseless Skies, literally wrote the guide on how to get into Warhammer 40K, and created my own mini-ARG based on NY graffiti history and Lovecraft’s Cthulhu mythos.

Here are some of the highlights of my career so far:

• Delivered a presentation on ARGs at the Glasgow International Fantasy Convention.
• Spoke about science/sci-fi on panels at New York Comic-Con, Silicon Valley Comic-Con, and Columbia University.
• Published multiple articles on the science of sci-fi (including an interview with the creators of Cowboy Bebop) for SyFy.com.
